The Asus Zenfone 5, as suggested by the name, has a 5-inch, IPS LCD, capacitive touchscreen of 16M colors and 720 x 1,280 pixels resolution. It functions on the Android v4.3 OS (Jelly Bean) and has a 2GHz Intel Atom Z2580 dual-core processor with Quad Thread Hyper Threading technology. A 1GB RAM combined with a PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU helps the processor.

The 8MP rear auto focus snapper sports features like digital image stabilization, BSI, digital zoom, geo-tagging and LED flash, and is complemented by a 2MP front facing camera. The phone supports a 64GB microSD card to boost the 4GB internal memory. Connectivity options include GPRS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, EDGE, USB port and GPS/AGPS. The 2,050 mAh Li-ion battery provides an uninterrupted service.
Verdict
Apart from the rich display and smart configuration, the Asus Zenfone 5 supports a voluminous external storage. The inbuilt storage could have been better though. A pair of great cameras adds icing on the cake. Overall, the ASUS Zenfone 5 is a great option as an affordable Android phablet.
